4 week Mindfulness + Well-being program for children
4 week Mindfulness + Well-being program for children
This course consists of 4 sessions, on a Saturday afternoon, that focuses on a particular Mindfulness or Well-being skill.
These sessions help children build their self-awareness, of their emotions and feelings, and their skills to help manage these when they become ‘tricky’.
We practice and build our Mindfulness skills, such as Belly breathing, and Noticing, and learn about how our brains work, and that they can react sometimes, when they don’t really need to. We learn to recognise these times, and what we can do in those moments.
We explore our values, what’s important to us, and building our sense of Self (who we are), which in turn helps build children’s resilience and Growth Mindset.
The program builds skills and self-awareness in a fun and play-based way, it includes hands-on creative activities and experiences, which are engaging and playful.
Kate Foster, the facilitator, has worked with children and families for over 27 years (eek!), she is a Family Counsellor, and has completed accredited Mindfulness training with Dr Russ Harris, and Dr Louise Hayes.
These sessions are not a psychological service, they are designed to support children’s understanding of their emotions, and ways to manage them.
These sessions are most suitable for children aged between 6-11 years
Children are provided with take-home resources, and parents with information of what is covered in the session, and what to practice and support at home .
